Tip (reminder) about free credit reports
With the arrival of September 1st all US states and territories are now eligible for free credit reports from the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies -- Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. See here.

One recommendation someone gave me about the free credit reports is to request them one at a time from the different bureaus every four months (since you can get one a year from each bureau). This way, you get a credit report every four months rather than once a year, increasing your chances of catching any fraud as early as possible.
