Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Tuesday August 9.
Bullish Calls:
Core Labs (CLB), Clean Harbors (CLH): "I prefer Core Labs (to CARBO Ceramics)...I think it is more consistent and is a better bet...boy have these come down. Clean Harbors is also good as an alternative."
Mercer International (MERC): "...how can I not like Mercer? You've got a winner."
Whole Foods (WFM): "I do like Whole Foods."
Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF): "I'm sticking with Cliffs. I like the cyclicals down here...people say 'Cramer, you are killing us with these.' I don't know. I don't see a severe recession."
Alaska Communications (ALSK), Windstream (WIN), Frontier (FTR), CenturyLink (CTL): "...I think (Alaska Communications) is better than Frontier...I think it is not as good as Windstream...but I think it is better than Frontier and Centurylink."
Bearish Calls:
Hecla Mining (HL): "I've been wanting to say this since I started the show: to heck with Hecla Mining...I don't like the silver miners. I have a hard enough time buying the gold stocks...and I gotta tell you, if you want exposure, you buy the ETFs."
CARBO Ceramics (CRR): "I prefer CoreLabs."
Winn-Dixie Stores (WINN): "I was a public shopper...I don't like supermakets, and I would include WINN. I want you out of WINN."
