Imagine a time in which your phone will anticipate your needs… when you want to eat, drink and sleep and whatever. Blogger Garett Rogers over at ZD Net picked this one up and links to the filing.
Artificial intelligence [AI] seems to be at play here, as the time for such a phone, one that databases and learns to integrate into our everyday lives, is near. Google's foresight bewilders many and the company that already receives enough press from all sorts of sources has now driven a stake through the heart of the emerging higher end of the phone service industry. Innovation out of the "plex" has reared its head again and brought out a phone that "understands" its user.
Google filed a patent in 2005 for a "Google Phone" and the AI behind the project is shocking. This ZDNet blog that posted this recent news states, "The main component of the patent application deals with predicting what the user wants based on time of day, location, and various other variables." As I posted Friday, Google is at a stage in which technology is fueling its engine as much as media and consumers are enjoying the ride. Today I will reiterate; it is invest-able.
Disclosure: Google Inc. is held in the Clear Large Cap Growth portfolio which is managed on a separate account platform. Mr. Corn is the founder and CEO of Clear Asset Management LLC and owns [GOOG] directly through his investment in the Clear Large Cap Growth portfolio.
