Defensive investors like stocks with sustainable high dividend yields even in bear markets. David Fish’s US Dividend Champions list consists of all US stocks that have increased their dividend payouts for at least 25 consecutive years. Fish also created two separate sub-lists: “Dividend Contenders” that have increased their payouts for 10-24 years and “Dividend Challengers” that have increased their payouts for 5-9 years. The whole list can be found here.

Below we compiled a list of stocks with dividend yields of at least 4% and EPS growth higher than 10% per year over the past five years. All companies have market caps of at least $10 billion and are on David Fish’s list, which means that they have increased their payouts for at least 5 years.

Dominion Resources (D): Dominion is a producer and transporter of energy. D has a dividend yield of 4.01% and its EPS grew at 27.34% per year over the past five years. It is a dividend challenger and it returned 18.79% since the beginning of this year. It has a market cap of $28.3B and a P/E ratio of 16.84. Charles Clough had $14 million of D shares.

Lockheed Martin (LMT): Lockheed Martin Corporation is a global security company. LMT has a dividend yield of 5.50% and its EPS grew at 11.89% per year over the past five years. It is a dividend challenger and it returned 7.08% since the beginning of this year. It has a market cap of $24.4B and a P/E ratio of 9.63. Jean-Marie Eveillard had $278 million of LMT stocks.

NextEra Energy (NEE): NextEra Energy is an electric power company in North America and the United States. NEE has a dividend yield of 4.15% and its EPS grew at 15.59% per year over the past five years. It is a dividend contender and it returned 5.05% since the beginning of this year. It has a market cap of $22.4B and a P/E ratio of 12.08. Phill Gross and Robert Atchinson invested $67 million in NEE stocks.

Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI): Rogers Communications Inc. is a leading provider of wireless, digital cable TV, high speed internet and home phone services. RCI has a dividend yield of 4.31% and its EPS grew at 27.88% per year over the past five years. It is a dividend challenger and it lost 1.79% since the beginning of this year.
