Westport Innovations (WPRT): "I like Westport. I need to see the gas stations catch up. I need to see the White House catch up. I need to see Congress catch up...but it's an inexpensive call...I think natural gas must be used, and I think it is a great call on common sense in our country."
Ross Stores (ROST), TJX Stores (TJX): "I like Ross Stores...and I'd buy TJX...the numbers are good and the balance sheet is great."
Alkermes (ALKS): "I'm a believer....their whole method of drug delivery is a good one. I want to own it...the stock has been time-tested, even by some failures in front of the FDA...that stock is a good one."
Baidu (BIDU): "The only Chinese stock I am going to recommend is Baidu."
Randgold (GOLD), Goldcorp (GG): "...if you want to own precious metals, I will send you to Randgold or Goldcorp."
Allstate (ALL), Prudential (PRU): "I think Allstate is okay...better than Allstate is Prudential. I feel much better about its asset power and its earnings quality."
Bearish Calls:
Under Armour (UA): "I don't know...it's had a run here...we want to see that stock come in before we pull the trigger."
Veolia Environment (VE): "No, no..sell, sell...I side with the guys who say 'shoot it.'"
Ann Taylor (ANN): "No...too fashion-oriented."
New Oriental Education and Technology (EDU): "I am not going to go there. I am not going to recommend a Chinese stock...this one has had a big run, and I would sell."
Stillwater Mining Company (SWC): "I'm not going to recommend a silver stock."
Sprint Nextel (S): "...it needs money and I don't like the capital structure...the common stock is vulnerable. Don't buy."
