The 1-year fiscal revenue growth rate is a top line growth performance ratio. While there are a variety of ways to spot up and coming companies we think the 1-year fiscal revenue growth rate is a good place to start. This metric takes a relevant time period and illustrates how well a company has done over several quarters consequitively. Given the currently unstable and uncertain economic period we feel that this just one way to potentially identify companies that are navigating the situation more successfully than others.

The debt-to-equity ratio is often viewed as a risk metric. This is because it illustrates how much a company is financing growth through debt. Debt in the most simple terms is a double edged sword. During an economically robust period it can help magnify earnings but at the same time it can magnify losses by the same proportion. Should a a company fail or struggle to cover the cost of its debt this can send it into a quick tail spin and push the stock lower.

We first ran a screen specifically for technology companies that have posted strong top line growth (1-year revenue growth rate>15%) regardless of economic fragility. From this narrowed pool we then filtered for those that had a low to manageable debt-to-equity level (X=<.4%). We did not screen out any companies by market cap.
