High-yield investing is very popular, especially in times of low interest rates. But what if the company pays twice as high yields? I am talking about yields of more than 10 percent annually. A yield of more than one tenth of your investment amount helps you to get back your investment in cash very fast.

Exactly 97 U.S. listed stocks have such a high yield, but most of them are not sustainable because their businesses have no big collaterals. Theiy are also low-capitalizied. However, I screened stocks with a very high yield (more than 10 percent) as well as a market capitalization of more than $2 billion (mid caps). 12 companies fulfilled these criteria; these are the results, sorted by dividend yields:

1. Chimera Investment (NYSE:CIM) has a market capitalization of $2.79 billion. The company generates revenues of $755.44 million and has a net income of $532.85 million. The firm’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) amounts to $540.90 million.
