Thank you to Theresa Carey and Kathy Yakal, authors of Barron's Electronic Investor column, for their kind words (paid subscription required) about The China Stock Blog. They wrote:
FOUR WEEKS AGO, we covered investment sites focused on Asia. We've since come across a good blog dealing with China, aptly named ChinaStockBlog.com (www.chinastockblog.com). It's part of the Seeking Alpha network of blogs, which we've covered before. Blogmaster Ezra Marbach is a former investment banker who lived in Beijing in 2002 and 2003; he worked for a venture capitalist there.
Recent entries included an explanation of why Elizabeth Arden products aren't sold at Wal-Marts in China (because pricing at those stores is so low that it would be detrimental to the brand), Cisco CEO John Chambers' conference-call comments on competing with China, and a few discussions of whether Baidu (BIDU), China's premier search engine, is overvalued. And is Coach ready to sell handbags in China? (Maybe, but perhaps not until after 2010.)
Marbach posts numerous times a day. He breaks his content into categories, including conference calls, government policy, commodities, and industry sectors and individual securities. An excellent blog for a hot market.
