Fox Entertainment's American Idol kicked off its 4th season with a bang, drawing  33.5 million viewers and 33% of 18-49 year old viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

  Last year, the show drew 28.2 million viewers and 30% of the 18-49 year old age group.  Tuesday night's show drew more viewers than ABC, NBC, CBS, UPN and the WB combined during the 8-10 PM time slot. Read about it
