I don't normally write about day to day earnings, but I am feeling a little inspired. Lets call it a Dow 13000 moment.

1. Broadcom (BRCM) - The way semi conductors like F5 Networks, Inc. (FFIV) and Texas Instruments (TXN) did, I think BRCM's will be a good report, but it's risky just based on their past performance.

2. Cleveland Cliffs (CLF) - I am buying this going into earnings. Should be a monster earnings report. I expect the stock to move up strongly.

3. Cypress Semi (CY) - This should be a good earnings. Remember CY owns a huge stake in Sunpower (SPWR), which also reports today. I am a buyer of CY first thing in the morning.

4. Countrywide Financial (CFC) - Earnings will be weak, but it is already priced into the stock. I don't think the stock will move up as a result of its earnings. It depends on what they say during their conference call. The stock is up some 13% since I recommended it back at the beginning of April, but I believe Countrywide can be bought a little lower.

5. Digital River (DRIV) - I am going on a limb here. I think this will be the earnings of the day. I am going to try and buy this one in the morning. I really expect them to blow away estimates.

6. Homex (HXM) - The largest Mexican home builder should report good numbers although the stock price probably already reflects it. Mexico's housing market is strong though.

7. MEMC Electronics (WFR) - It seems like only yesterday that I mentioned this favorably .. oh wait, it was yesterday (actually the day before but whatever). The stock has run up a little too much going into earnings but I would stick with it if you own it.

8. NII Holdings (NIHD) - If American Movil (AMX) was any indication of how telecom and wireless providers are doing in Mexico, this Nextel of Latin America should also come out with great numbers. I don't expect this one to move too significantly though.

9. Palomar Medical (PMTI) - The sector, although tied to the anti-aging medicine market, seems to be in limbo. No sooner than the stocks go up, they run into bad earnings or patent lawsuits and come crashing down. Case and point PMTI's rollercoaster ride, not to mention CUTR and ELOS, which have been nightmares for buy and hold investors.

10. Potash (POT) - A lot is expected from this company in light of the agriculture boom we are seeing, and based on recent history, they should announce record earnings and profits. Margins should be expanding as demand for fertilizer products rise.

Additionally, big oil and energy names like ExxonMobil (XOM), Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (DO), CSX Corporation (CSX), Massey Energy Company (MEE), Valero Energy Corporation (VLO), Halliburton Company (HAL) and Suncor Energy Inc. (SU) report tomorrow. This entire basket of stocks could be an energy ETF on its own. All these names are great long term holdings, specifically SU and CSX.

Semis and tech names that I would look out for are SanDisk (SNDK), KLA-Tencor Corporation (KLAC), NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. (NETL) and Level 3 Communications, Inc. (LVLT).

Lastly, I want to name a couple of interesting stocks that have been dead for a while, but are due for a comeback.

Stratasys, Inc. (SSYS) announces earnings this morning and I am interested to see what the company has been doing. I owned this one back in 2003, but since then the company slipped off my radar completely amidst earnings disappointments. The stock has seen some good accumulation lately and is up almost 25% in the last couple of months.

Also, Kyphon Inc. (KYPH) should be interesting here. Considering how good Stryker Corporation (SYK) and Zimmer Holdings, Inc. (ZMH) are doing, one should expect them to do well in their spinal device business.

And finally, Lyondell Chemical Company (LYO) should report a good quarter. With The Dow Chemical Company (DOW) and Eastman Chemicals (EMN) also reporting today, this sector should be quite active. It wouldn't surprise me to see some consolidation in this space, after all, DOW has been talking about being suited by potential buyers now for a while.
