Dow Jones (DJ) News Corp. (NWS), Washington Post (WPO), New York Times (NYT), Gannett (GCI) and Microsoft (MSFT): Although it has turned down bids in the past, DJ will be bought this time around, according to Cramer, because those who opposed a deal, board member Roy Hammer and ex-CEO and Chairman Peter Kann, have vacated their positions. While he thinks DJ would prefer a match with WPO, he predicts NYT, GCI and MSFT will also make bids. However, Cramer is betting on NWS because "I think that Murdoch has a lot more firepower to pay for it, and he's always loved the property."
Procter and Gamble (PG), Avon (AVP), Honeywell (HON): Cramer finds it impossible to believe that PG could "blow it" as badly as it did, especially with currency on their side and prestigious brands. He thinks PG may no longer be in "the pantheon" and now prefers Avon, especially for its international exposure. Cramer notes industrials like HON are getting "revalued" off of strong earnings.
