A few months ago we published an article about mid-cap stocks with consistent dividend increases. We define mid cap as any stock with a market cap between $2B and $5B. These stocks are a great place to find growth and high yields. Dividend investors want to invest in companies that are growing their dividend and their market cap.
In our first article we highlighted stocks with 10 consecutive years of increases. Today we are highlighting the rest of the mid-cap dividend-growth stocks that have been raising their dividend for five consecutive years but did not make our first list. Each stock also has a dividend yield over 2.5% and a three-year net income growth rate over 5%.
Westar Energy - (NYSE:WR)
Westar has a dividend yield of 4.4% and has raised the dividend for seven consecutive years. Its three-year net income growth rate is 6.59%. WR has a payout ratio of 70% and a three-year dividend growth rate of 3.3%.
Westar Energy is a utility company that operates in Kansas. It provides electric generation and distribution services to over 600,000 customers. Most of the customers are retail but it does provide wholesale services to municipalities and electric cooperatives.
Alliance Resource Partners - (NASDAQ:ARLP)
ARLP has a dividend yield of 4.8% and has raised its dividend for nine consecutive years. The three-year net income growth rate is 23.5%. Alliance has a payout ratio is 47% and a three-year dividend growth rate of 12.2%.
Alliance Resource Partners is a limited partnership that produces and markets coal to U.S. utilities and industrial users. It operates nine mining locations and is constructing new mining complexes in the U.S.
Harris Corporation - (NYSE:HRS)
Harris Corporation has a dividend yield of 2.5% and has increased the dividend for 10 consecutive years. The three-year net income growth rate is 9.8% and has a payout ratio of just 25%. The three-year dividend growth rate is almost 15%.
Harris is a global IT and communication company that provides services in over 150 countries. It provides RF Communication and Government Communication Systems. The RF Communication services include radio and public safety services. The Government Communications Systems consist of defense and intelligence programs.
Hasbro, Inc. - (NASDAQ:HAS)
Hasbro has a dividend yield of 3.3% and has increased the dividend for eight consecutive years. The three-year dividend growth rate is 15% and the payout ratio is just 43%. Hasbro has a three-year net income growth rate of 6.1%.
Hasbro provides children's and family products through its many popular brands. It offers a number of gaming and toy products. Some brands you may have heard of include NERF, Marvel, Transformers and Playskool.
Sunoco Logistic Partners - (NYSE:SXL)
Sunoco Logistic Partners has a dividend yield of 4.2% and has been increasing the dividend for eight consecutive years. The three-year dividend growth rate is 11.2% and the three-year net income growth rate is 41.9%.
SXL is a limited partnership that engages in transporting and storing refined products and crude oil. It also purchases and sells crude oil in 17 U.S. states. It operates in three segments: Refined Products Pipeline, Crude Oil Pipeline and Terminal Facilities.
