George Soros initiated holdings in Food Products company Archer Daniels Mmidland Co. (ADM).

His purchase prices were between $30.76 and $36.72, with an estimated average price of $33.6. The impact to his portfolio due to this purchase was 1.27%. His holdings were 858,500 shares as of 03/31/2007. Shares of ADM were traded at around $36.69.

While I could not disagree with Soros' politics more, I cannot argue with his track record in his investments. He is truly one of the all time greats in that department and anything he does is worth noting and following.

I have stumped for the value of ADM shares (and have held them for years) on this blog many times, the latest being here. It is always a confidence booster to know that one of the world greatest investors seems to be thinking along the same lines as you.

ADM shares, up 15% since I recommended them in January, are only in the infancy of their eventual value . . .

Disclosure: Author is long ADM.

Todd states that he "could not disagree with Soros' politics more".

So I guess Todd thinks George W. Bush is doing a good job as President.

If Todd's political judgement is that poor, I wonder if his financial judgement is much better.

I think Todd said he couldn't disagree with Soros, not that he agreed or disagreed with W. I shudder to think where we would be had Soros been successful in his political endeavors. Think its bad now (which I don't btw), think how bad it would be with that nutcase Gore or the socialist Kerry in power.

I believe I've read where Soros is a criminal, convicted by a court in a foreign country but able to stay out of jail because of his money. He manipulates markets and tried to manipulate our elections. No wonder the Dems love him.
