Palm (ticker: PALM) and Research In Motion (ticker: RIMM) will collaborate on an upcoming, BlackBerry-enabled version of the Palm Treo 650 (pictured). The joint project gives Palm access to BlackBerry's broad enterprise user base, and gives RIM some relief from its fierce patent fight with NTP.

Lehman Brothers called the joint project 'a strategic positive for both companies', given the winning combination of Palm's industrial design and RIM's secure connectivity infrastructure.
