I recently watched The Big Short, an excellent adaptation of a great book by my favorite author, Michael Lewis. Sorry to go full movie critic mode, but it was a funny, fascinating, poignant look at the interesting cast of characters who actually saw the housing bubble popping and subsequent financial crisis coming. Walking out of the theatre, I was pumped up and ready to short junk bonds (NYSEARCA:SJB) or housing stocks (NYSEARCA:ITB).
Actually, I think the time to short junk bonds was a couple months ago, and am actually still bullish on housing due to still low supply and improving demand. My favorite play on the sector is building materials provider USG Corporation (NYSE:USG
