Hickey and Walters (Bespoke) submit: Friday's Core CPI reading showed that on a year over year basis, inflation was 2.2%.

Looking back at the Fed's prior easing cycle at the turn of the century, the Fed was always well on its way towards lowering the Fed Funds rate to multi-decade lows. This time it's different though as inflation is still above the Fed's 'comfort zone'.
