Energy Sector Bankruptcies for the Week Ended July 29, 2016

Here's a list of the most recent bankruptcy announcements in the energy sector:

- Halcon Resources (NYSE:HK) filed on Wednesday, July 27

- Atlas Resource Partners (NYSE:ARP) filed on Thursday, July 28

We should also note that Alpha Natural Resources (OTCPK:ANRZQ) said earlier this week that it has "emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy as a smaller, privately-held company."

U.S. Oil Rig Count as of July 29, 2016

As per Baker Hughes, the number of active U.S. oil drilling rigs rose again for its fifth straight weekly gain.
