From Index Universe:
I thought it might be useful to take a look beneath the surface and look at the ETF market from an individual fund level.

Below I’ve broken down funds for each issuer into three categories: Below $100 million in net assets, $100-$999 million, and $1 billion or more.

$1 billion is the magic level in the ETF industry, when a fund officially becomes a hit; $100-$999 million is respectable and profitable for issuers; funds with less than $100 million funds are experimental.

This shouldn’t be read as a straight comparison of issuer success. Newly launched funds will always have fewer assets than established funds, so a company like Claymore, which has only recently come to market, will certainly be skewed towards the smaller end of the spectrum. But I think this is an important success gauge to monitor over time.

What Funds does Fidelity have? I mean which ETF's. And DB has quite a few funds? Which one's/ Finally, people trade ETF's for a specific reason. How important is this.

    Thanks,

    Neal
