7 Earnings Reports To Watch For Next Week

Next week is a busy earnings season and there are many quarterly earnings releases scheduled. There are so many stocks to watch. However, my focus is on 14 stocks and these 14 stocks are selected based on popularity, volume and more importantly, significant price change expected based on the earning results and forecast.

In this article, I will focus on the first set of seven stocks, and will continue the series later this week. This article provides earnings preview and consideration for the next week. Use this list as a potential starting point for your analysis.

Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE): Adobe Systems Incorporated (Adobe) is a diversified software company. The company offers a line of software and services used by professionals, marketers, knowledge workers, application developers, enterprises and consumers for creating, managing, delivering, measuring and engaging with content and experiences across multiple operating systems, devices and media.

Adobe has a market cap of $16.90 billion and will report its first quarter 2012 earnings results on Monday, March 19, 2012, after market close. The first quarter revenues are expected to be $1.05 billion when compared to $1.03 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the first quarter are expected to be 57 cents a share from 58 cents a share in the year ago period. Adobe is currently trading around $34.22 with a 52 week range of $22.67 to $35.99.

DSW Inc. (NYSE:DSW): DSW Inc. is a United States branded footwear specialty retailer. DSW manages its operations in three operating segments: DSW stores, dsw.com and leased departments. DSW stores and dsw.com are presented as one segment, the DSW segment. DSW stores and dsw.com offer a range of assortment of better-branded dress, casual and athletic footwear for men and women, as well as handbags and accessories.

DSW has a market cap of $2.43 billion and will report its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2011 earnings results on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, before market open. The fourth quarter revenues are expected to be $511.18 million when compared to $468.45 million for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the fourth quarter are expected to be 49 cents a share from 41 cents a share in the year ago period. DSW is currently trading around $56.17 with a 52 week range of $36.48 to $57.06.

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL): Oracle Corporation, incorporated in 2005, is an enterprise software company. The company develops, manufactures, markets, distributes and services database and middleware software, applications software and hardware systems, consisting primarily of computer server and storage products. It operates in three segments: Software, hardware systems and services.

Oracle has a market cap of $151.43 billion and will report its third quarter fiscal year 2012 earnings results on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, after market close. The third quarter revenues are expected to be $9.03 billion when compared to $8.81 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the third quarter are expected to be 56 cents a share from 54 cents a share in the year ago period. Oracle is currently trading around $30.13 with a 52 week range of $24.72 to $36.50.

Tiffany & Co. (NYSE:TIF): Tiffany & Co. is a holding company and conducts all business through its subsidiary companies. The company, through its subsidiaries, including Tiffany and Company (Tiffany), sells fine jewelry and other items that it manufactures or has been made by others.

Tiffany has a market cap of $8.94 billion and will report its fourth quarter and full year 2011 earnings results on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, before market open. The fourth quarter revenues are expected to be $1.19 billion when compared to $1.10 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the fourth quarter are expected to be $1.41 a share from $1.44 a share in the year ago period. Tiffany is currently trading around $70.44 with a 52 week range of $54.58 to $84.49.

Actuant Corporation (NYSE:ATU): Actuant Corporation designs, manufactures and distributes a range of industrial products and systems. The Industrial segment is primarily involved in the design, manufacture and distribution of branded hydraulic and mechanical tools to the maintenance, industrial, infrastructure and production automation markets.

Actuant has a market cap of $1.97 billion and will report its second quarter 2012 earnings results on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, before market open. The second quarter revenues are expected to be $368.50 million when compared to $330.70 million for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the second quarter are expected to be 38 cents a share from 30 cents a share in the year ago period. Actuant is currently trading around $28.97 with a 52 week range of $17.47 to $29.29.

Discover Financial Services (NYSE:DFS): Discover Financial Services (Discover) is a direct banking and payment services company. The company operates as a bank holding company and a financial holding company. The company operates the Discover Network, its credit card payments network; the PULSE network (PULSE), its automated teller machine (ATM), debit and electronic funds transfer network, and Diners Club International (Diners Club), its global payments network. It operates in two segments: Direct Banking and Payment Services.

Discover has a market cap of $16.97 billion and will report its first quarter 2012 earnings results on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, after market close. The first quarter revenues are expected to be $1.80 billion when compared to $1.73 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the first quarter are expected to be 89 cents a share from 84 cents a share in the year ago period. Discover is currently trading around $32.02 with a 52 week range of $20.51 to $32.10.

General Mills, Inc. (NYSE:GIS): General Mills, Inc. (General Mills), is a global manufacturer and marketer of consumer foods sold through retail stores. The company is also a supplier of branded and unbranded food products to the foodservice and commercial baking industries. The company's businesses are organized into three operating segments: U.S. Retail, International, and Bakeries and Food service.

General Mills has a market cap of $24.88 billion and will report its third quarter 2012 earnings results on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, before market open. The third quarter revenues are expected to be $4.08 billion when compared to $3.65 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the third quarter are expected to be 56 cents a share from 56 cents a share in the year ago period. General Mills is currently trading around $38.59 with a 52 week range of $34.64 to $41.06.
