Back-to-back 200+ Point Gains for Nikkei, Approaching 5-year High, Toyota Makes New All-time High (MC, TM, PIO, KUB, SNE, MLEA, SANYY, MTU, NSANY, ATE, NIPNY, NTT, EWJ, TMIC, TDK)

After a slow start to the trading week the last two days have been exciting in Japan and especially in Tokyo. The Nikkei 225 soared another 200+ points today reaching the 14,600+ level for the first time since December 2000. The TOPIX continued to move upward in the 1,500 range building on its 5+ year highs. Speaking of highs, Toyota (ticker: TM) expanded on its all time high hitting 5,890 yen, remember its ADRs are at a 1:2 ratio meaning for every underlying share there are two ADRs, therefore the $95.56 closing price on Thursday (note its currently up nearly $3 in pre-market trading today).
Nikkei 225: +211.33 (+1.47%), to close at 14,623.12, opened 131 points higher, prior close of 14,411.79, intra-day high of 14,633.35, intra-day low of 14,542.78
TOPIX: +21.32 (+1.41%), to close at 1,531.65, opened 13 points higher, prior close of 1,510.33, intra-day high of 1,534.99, intra-day low of 1,523.97
JASDAQ: +0.30 (+0.28%), to close at 109.24, traded in 109 range throughout the day
Yen: Once again at Y119/US$1 level, has been in and out of 118-119 range this week
