Cisco Systems has agreed to buy Cognio Inc., a privately held Germantown, Md.-based provider of wireless spectrum analysis and management for wireless networks. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. "Cognio's innovation in spectrum intelligence will help ensure Cisco continues to differentiate our ability to deliver our customers rich and dependable end-user mobility experiences," said Brett Galloway, vice president and general manager of the Wireless Networking Business Unit. Completion is expected in Cisco's fiscal first quarter upon which Cognio will be integrated into the wireless networking business unit.
