More Gains in Tokyo, ADRs to Watch Today (NIPNY, MTU, HMC, ATE, CAJ, NTT, DCM, FUJIY, KNBWY, TMIC, ETF: EWJ)

Profit-takers emerged to some extent in early morning trading but the bullish sentiment remained from last week as the selling was short-lived and all major indices were up around 1% today. Similar to the broad gains made last week, today's gainers were from a variety of industries and once again led by domestic oriented stocks; which is a great indicator of the strength of the recovering economy. Below are the numbers and a look at ADRs to watch that made the biggest gains and losses on the day. Leading the way was NEC (ticker: NIPNY), which is still strong, up 3.05% today after gaining 9.0% last week.
Nikkei 225: +129.71 (+0.84%) closed at 15,551.31, opened slightly lower, 8 points off Friday's close of 15,421.60, intra-day high of 15,563.39, intra-day low of 15,379.64
TOPIX: +13.85 (+0.87%) closed at 1,597.57, opened about 3 1/2 points higher than Friday's close of 1,583.72, intra-day high of 1,600.17, intra-day low of 1,584.28
JASDAQ: +1.30 (+1.15%) closed at 114.41, traded as high as 114.42 and the low on the day was 113.36
Today's biggest gainers and losers among Tokyo Stock Exchange traded shares with ADRs:
* Advancers: NEC (NIPNY) +3.05%, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MTU) +1.92%, Honda Motor (HMC) +1.57%, Advantest (ATE) +1.39%, Canon (CAJ) +1.29%
Advantest has been hot of late, up 30% in November and up 8.4% last week. Honda Motor shares continue to move upward, having gained 3.2% last week.
* Decliners: NTT (NTT) -1.65%, NTT DoCoMo (DCM) -1.62%, Fuji Photo Film (FUJIY) -1.22%, Kirin Brewery (KNBWY) -1.21%, Trend Micro (TMIC) -0.97%
DoCoMo, last week's biggest loser (-4.4%) and NTT, the second lowest Japan ADR of the week (-4.2%) continued to slide. Trend Micro was also down last week, -2.6%.
