After a down day yesterday from profit-taking some ground was made up but the Nikkei fell from intra-day highs in late afternoon trading. Advantest (ATE) was down on Goldman Sachs' (GS) downgrade from "outperform" to "in-line." Kubota (KUB) led all ADRs, gaining 5.35% on the day.
Nikkei 225: +61.28 (+0.40%) closed at 15,484.66, opened nearly 100 points higher from prior close of 15,423.38, traded as high as 15,558.32 and as low as 15,467.75
TOPIX: +7.25 (+0.46%) closed at 1,598.59, opened just under 10 points higher than prior close of 1,591.34, intra-day high at 1,609.44, intra-day low of 1,597.02
JASDAQ: -0.36 (-0.31%) closed at 114.96, traded between 114.75 and 115.50
