BBC economics reporter Steve Schifferes apparently spent some time recently in Cleveland (Ohio, not northeast England), boning up on the “wave of foreclosures and evictions” about to sweep the U.S. But the most fascinating part of his report is a mashup, credited to Case Western Reserve, showing the entirely spurious correlations between:
- Sub-prime lending
- Foreclosures
- Minority-dominated neighborhoods, and
- Properties now controlled by Deutsche Bank (DB), on behalf of the owners of the underlying mortgages.
Go play. It’s kinda cool. Unless, of course, one of those little green dots used to be your home. (Fore-lock tug to David S. Products).
