Priceline, Audible, Netflix Largest Short Interest; Biggest Rise Amazon, WebMD and eBay (PCLN, ADBL, NFLX, AMZN, WBMD, EBAY)

Citigroup analyst Mark Mahaney on NASDAQ and NYSE short interest data through December 15th:

• The median M/M change in Short Interest for the stocks we cover was down 2.2% (vs. up 4.7% in November). The biggest M/M changes were: AMZN (up 28%), WBMD (up 18%), EBAY (up 14%), and GOOG (down 11%).
• The highest 2005 YTD changes were ADBL (up 212%), VCLK (up 88%), PCLN (down 48%), and AMZN (up 41%). Median YTD change, up 5.2%.
• PCLN, ADBL, and NFLX had by far the highest Short Interest Ratios among the stocks we cover. ADBL, NFLX, and PCLN also had the highest Short Interest as a % of Float. These two measures indicate relatively high levels of negative sentiment with these shares.
