Date at Work
Office romances used to be taboo. However, with people working more and socializing less and also getting married older, dating at work has become more socially acceptable. According to the Society for Human Resource Management, 72 percent of companies do not have any written or unwritten policy on office relationships.
The disadvantages of office dating are obvious, namely coworkers' gossip and the awkwardness of working with your ex if the relationship does not last. However, there are also some definite advantages.
1) People who work together have at least one similar interest, and coworkers with similar jobs may be of similar age and have more in common.
2) People who work together frequently live near each other and also don't have to worry as much about making time to see each other.
3) Working with the person removes some of the awkwardness of dating. Introductions don't need to be made. You get to know the person's personality without being put on the spot, and conversation can revolve around work, thus removing the incompatibility pitfall.
