Bullish calls:
First Solar (FSLR)
Costco (COST): 'Yes! COST is the single-beat retailer in America! Bar none! COST offers the best value and the highest-quality merchandise... I sound like a commercial, and I don't care. Two thumbs up COST!'
Blue Coat Systems (BCSI): 'The stock has come down. I think that's a mistake and an over-reaction. I want to buy that stock!'
Boeing (BA): 'BA has marked time here. The other guy [Airbus] can't even make the planes... Let's pick up some BA! Right here in the low $90s... I think it goes to $120!'
XTO Energy (XTO): '…if it's going to be natural gas, it's going to be XTO Energy Inc. best of breed.'
ConocoPhillips (COP): 'If we're going to be oil, I'm going to send you to... ConocoPhillips.' Nike (NKE): 'Listen, Skipper... I mistakenly sold NKE in the low $60s for my charitable trust and I regret it every single day of my life. I get up in a cold sweat and say, why did I sell NKE? NKE is going higher!'
Garmin (GRMN): 'GRMN works between now and Christmas for you and for me.'
Yum! Brands (YUM)
Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG): 'My feeling is, between now and year-end, CMG's probably going to be a pretty good stock to own.'
Layne Christensen (LAYN): 'I endorse it wholeheartedly, particularly in this pullback..'
Bearish calls:
LDK Solar (LDK): 'This is a case of accounting irregularities... equals sell.'
TXCO Resources (TXCO)
Smithfield Foods (SFD): 'Best of breed... but I can't get into it... You know why?... Because the cost of feeding livestock, which is what ultimately they need, is too high.'
American Railcar (ARII): 'These are all going to be tax-loss stories... If you want to pick up ARII, may I suggest you do it in the last week of December, when all the tax loss selling is done, and not before then... Don't buy, don't buy...'
