Bill Gates, through Cascade Investments, has purchased over 10 million shares of the large Mexican beverage company, Fomento Econmico Mexicano, S.A.B de C.V (FMX). It is also known as FEMSA.

FEMSA has three divisions, Coca-Cola FEMSA S.A.B. de C.V. (KOF), which is also a publicly traded NYSE company and distributes Coca Cola beverages; FEMSA Cerveza, S.A. de C.V., which distributes beer, including Sol, Dos Equis, and Tecate; and FEMSA Comercio, S.A. de C.V., which is a chain of convenience stores.
