The Microcap Speculator submits: Today's news that Warnaco (ticker: WRNC) is buying the international licenses to Calvin Klein for roughly for $284 million has got me thinking. For about six months I have tracked the stock of IC Isaacs & Co. (ticker: ISAC.OB), which owns the Girbaud license in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The stock is near 52-week lows but the company is profitable and the valuation seems reasonable. The company expects diluted EPS of $.60-$.62 for 2005 and 10% EPS growth for 2006. Not bad for a stock trading at $4.30.
Here's the rub: I have no clue about fashion. Zero. I didn't know much even when I was in high school, and that was almost twenty years ago. Now I am hopelessly detached from that scene. I also hate shopping so I can't tell you what is on the racks or moving through the checkouts. Can anyone tell me if Girbaud is still "cool"? Thanks.
DISCLOSURE: I have no position in ISAC.OB. Not a recommendation to buy or sell any security. For informational and educational purposes only.
