  1. Internet search will contribute up to 3/4 of all advertising revenue growth in 2008, according to WPP's GroupM. Internet advertising revenue will come close to overtaking TV in 2008.
  2. Baidu.com (BIDU) says its shares may fall in the short term after the death of CFO Shawn Wang, due to uncertainty over his replacement.
  3. According to one study, one in ten PCs will be a Mac (AAPL) by the end of 2008.

Intel Capital (INTC) seems to be downplaying its (approx. 30%) interest in Clearwire (CLWR) after president Arvind Sodhani resigned from Clearwire's board just 15 months after joining it in order to avoid potential "conflicts of interest." Apparently, Intel has new WiMax plans that don't involve CLWR.
  5. iSuppli says sales growth of dedicated music players will slow sharply over the next five years after a decade of double-digit gains, as users turn to music-enabled phones.
  6. GM (GM), Ford (F) and Chrysler have committed to a diesel option for their next-generation light-duty pickups. If consumers accept diesel as an option, the technology could expand beyond trucks.
  7. Disney (DIS) is also on board an Apple (AAPL)/Fox (NWS) venture announced last week to rent 20th Century Fox movies on iTunes. Apple CEO Steve Jobs is a Disney board member and its largest individual shareholder. Other potential distributor partners include Paramount (VIA), Lions Gate (LGF) and MGM (TWX). Rentals will cost $2 to $5 a day.
  8. An iPhone update will give users the ability to approximate their whereabouts using a Google Maps feature that pinpoints location through cell tower triangulation. Users will also be able to text message more than one person at a time.
  9. U.S. Grocer Kroger (KR) is set to enter India's real estate business. Sources say the company has met with several real estate companies for potential joint ventures.
  10. Parsvanth Developers is nearing an agreement with Marriott (MAR), Starwood (HOT), Intercontinental (IHG) and ITC for several in-the-works hotels. Parsvanth wants to develop 17 hotels by 2011.
  11. Novell (NOVL) received $355.6 million from Microsoft (MSFT) last year, which may help explain why Novell execs are so pumped about MSFT interoperability.
