Some time ago we put together a piece discussing how we tell The Economic Time™, and a subsequent one outlining whom The Economic Clock™ is designed for: the strategic investor who wants to know where we are in the cycle - and how to make/save his/her money.

Below, we provide you with set of panels illustrating the power of The Economic Clock. For the all-important U.S. market, it has given us the right signals in 86% of all instances since January 1993. It has done poorly in Japan - but then, Japan is hardly a "normal" economy, what with the Zaibatsu still running the place. It has done pretty well for the EU and for all of the other Asian economies that we cover.

On a technical note, we have compared annual percentage changes of The Economic Clock and of each respective stock market.

Wishing you a happy holiday season and a prosperous 2008.
