Next week is a busy time for earnings, with many quarterly releases scheduled and lots of stocks to watch. However, my focus is on 20 of them that have earnings due in the next week. In this article, I will focus on the first set of 10 stocks, providing earnings previews to consider in anticipation of their earnings reports and will continue the series later this week. Use this list as a potential starting point for your analysis.

Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB): May 21, 2012

Lowe's Companies, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a home improvement retailer. It offers a range of products for maintenance, repair, remodeling and home decorating.

Lowe's has a market cap of $35.72 and will report its first quarter earnings results on May 21, 2012, before market open. The first quarter revenues are expected to be $12.96 billion when compared to $12.18 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the first quarter are expected to be 42 cents a share, up from 34 cents a share in the year-ago period. Urban Outfitters, Inc. (NASDAQ:URBN): May 21, 2012

Urban Outfitters Inc. operates lifestyle specialty retail stores under the Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain, and BHLDN brand names in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Express, Inc. operates specialty retail stores in the United States. The company's stores offer apparel and accessories for women and men between 20 and 30 years old across various aspects of the lifestyles comprising work, casual, jeanswear, and going-out occasions. It also sells gift cards.

Express Inc has a market cap of $2.078 billion and will report its first quarter earnings results on May 22, 2012, before market open. The first quarter revenues are expected to be $503.28 million when compared to $467.38 million for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the first quarter are expected to be 49 cents a share, up from 42 cents a share in the year-ago period. Express Inc is currently trading around $23.38 with a 52 week range of $16.12 to $26.27. The stock has 17.25% price performance for the year 2012.

Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR): May 22, 2012

Compuware has a market cap of $1.816 billion and will report its fourth quarter earnings results on May 22, 2012, after market close. The fourth quarter revenues are expected to be $262.37 million when compared to $249.55 million for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the fourth quarter are expected to be 12 cents a share, down from 16 cents a share in the year-ago period. Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL): May 22, 2012

The first quarter revenues are expected to be $14.92 billion when compared to $15.02 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the first quarter are expected to be 46 cents a share, down from 55 cents a share in the year-ago period. Dell is currently trading around $15.46 with a 52 week range of $13.29 to $18.36. The stock has 5.6% price performance for the year 2012.

PetSmart, Inc. (NASDAQ:PETM): May 22, 2012

PetSmart, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a specialty retailer of products, services, and solutions for pets in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.

PetSmart has a market cap of $6.15 billion and will report its first quarter earnings results on May 22, 2012, after market close. The first quarter revenues are expected to be $1.60 billion when compared to $1.49 billion for the same quarter last year. Earnings per share for the first quarter are expected to be 73 cents a share, up from 61 cents a share in the year-ago period. PetSmart is currently trading around $56.86 with a 52 week range of $37.76 to $59.36. The stock has 10.59% price performance for the year 2012.
