Investment writer Gene Marcial likes Outback Steakhouse (OSI), the owner and operator of several casual dining concepts. Examples include Carrabba's Italian Grill, Lee Roy Selmon's, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Bonefish Grill, Paul Lee’s Chinese Kitchen, and namesake Outback Steakhouse. Outback has a venture capital type model -- it invests in new, startup restaurants.
