Demand for Fertilizer Boosts Agrium and PotashCorp Stocks

Shares in Agrium Inc. (AGU) got a boost Wednesday thanks to fertilizer competitor PotashCorp. of Saskatchewan Inc. (POT).
Agrium shares rose close to 5% in morning trading after PotashCorp. announced that fourth quarter profit had doubled as strong global demand for fertilizers led to significant price increases.
Potash shares were up more than 6% heading into the afternoon trading session.
