Buying Digital Cameras: Choosing the Right One
Thinking of buying a new digital camera? With so many options out there and so many websites to buy from, does it have to be so overwhelming? It doesn’t if you keep your search simple and stick to the following suggestions.
To get started, check out the buying guide from the Digital Photography Review (dpreview) or Yahoo! Shopping’s Digital Camera Buying Guide.
With DP Review, you can bring up an excellent side-by-side detailed comparison chart of selected cameras if you already know the names of the cameras you are considering. If you only have a sense of what features are important, you can conduct a features search that will yield a comparison chart of all the cameras that meet your criteria. Don’t freak out if you don’t know what half the listed feature categories are referring to; just pick out the ones that matter to you: size, price, zoom capability, etc. If you love a certain company, you can also sort by brand and browse the latest designs.
Pick out your top two or three choices, and take a break before starting to look for a bargain.
