Dividend stocks are more attractive to investors these days due to the decline in interest rates and with the recent reduction in the tax rate on most dividends. Also, investors like the dividend stocks for long-term investments as these dividend payments tend to protect the stock price from market volatility that affects non-dividend paying stocks. However, careful analysis of dividend stocks and choosing the right dividend stocks at right time is critical for the investors.

In this article, I will focus on small cap stocks with a high dividend yield and ex-dividend date within the next week (June 4 to June 8). These stocks are screened based on the following criteria:

  • Security Type: Common Stock
  • Market Cap: Between $250 million and $2 billion
  • Dividend Yield: Greater than or equal to 4.0%
  • Ex-Dividend Date: Between June 4, 2012 and June 8, 2012

1. QUAD/GRAPHICS INC (QUAD): Quad/Graphics, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the provision of print and related products and services in North America, Latin America, and Europe. Quad/Graphics has a market cap of $591.50M. Quad/Graphics is currently trading around $12.54 with a 52 week range of $11.25 to $41.89. The dividend amount is 25 cents per share which is 7.97% dividend yield. The Ex-Dividend date is Jun 07, 2012, Record date is Jun 11, 2012 and the dividend payout date is Jun 22, 2012. The stock has -12.55% price performance for the year 2012.

2. SEACUBE CONTAINER LEASING LTD (BOX-OLD): SeaCube Container Leasing Ltd. operates as a container leasing company worldwide. It principally engages in the acquisition, leasing, re-leasing, and subsequent sale of refrigerated and dry containers, and generator sets.SeaCube has a market cap of $366.8 million. SeaCube is currently trading around $18.08 with a 52 week range of $10.26 to $19.33. The dividend amount is 28 cents per share which is 6.2% dividend yield. 4. UNIVEST CORP OF PENNSYLVANIA (UVSP): Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania, through its subsidiaries, provides various financial solutions, including personal and business banking, online banking, residential mortgages, insurance products, and investment and wealth advisory solutions.
