Chevron Corporation (CVX) is slated to report Q4 earnings with a conference call scheduled for 11:00 am ET, Friday, February 1.

Guidance

Analysts are looking for the company to post a profit of $2.24 on revenue of $76.09B. The consensus range is $1.74 to $2.54 for EPS, according to First Call. On January 10, Chevron issued an interim update, announcing that its Q4 net income would be higher than the $3.7B in earned in Q3. In Q3, Chevron underperformed expectations due to weak refining and marketing conditions in the U.S. However, record oil prices in Q4 should boost revenue for all oil producers, including Chevron.

Investors will listen to Chevron's conference call for any commentary on the state of the economy and/or recession talk, as weakness in the economy could weaken demand and margins. Upcoming Events: Chevron is holding an Analyst Meeting on March 11, 2008.
