CIGNA Corp. (NYSE:CI) is expected to report Q4 earnings with a conference call scheduled for 8:30 am ET Wednesday.
Analysts are looking for a profit of 98c on revenue of $4.44B. The consensus is 91c to $1.03c for EPS, and revenue of $4.41B to $4.46B, according to First Call. Analysts will be looking at Medicare sign-ups to see if they help profits.
In November, the company announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Great-West Healthcare Holdings. Under terms of the agreement, CIGNA will pay about $1.5B in cash to Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance, its parent company, and will add about $400M of additional capital to support the acquired business. The transaction is expected to close during the first half of 2008. Citigroup raised its estimates on CIGNA to reflect accretion from the deal, with a price target of $64 for the stock.
