Analyst analysis

On January 28, Citigroup said that MetLife's stock had reached a compelling entry point. The firm predicted that a more stabilized yield curve would enable MetLife to profit from its revitalized securities lending business. However, Citigroup added that lower long-term interest rates and uneven equity markets would negatively affect MetLife's earnings. The firm predicted the company would report solid Q4 results, and they estimate MetLife will record $5.90 to $6.20 in EPS this year. On January 15, MetLife's board authorized a new $1B stock buyback program.
