Backdrop

Aon, along with the rest of the insurance brokerage industry, is struggling with falling prices, as insurance premiums drop. On January 22, Aon selected Robert Brown as the new CEO of its corporate division. The corporate division includes the company's commercial insurance, professional services and trade credit businesses.

In December, Ace (ACE) announced that it would acquire Aon's Combined Insurance Company of America and some of its subsidiaries for $2.4B in cash. Combined Insurance sells individual accident and supplemental health insurance products to customers worldwide.
