3 Stocks To Dress Your Portfolio For Success

Includes: NKE, PVH, VFC

Here in the good old United States of America, times are changing. Go back about 50 years ago and a kid had maybe two pairs of shoes: a pair of sneakers and a pair of dress shoes; that's it. But today is different; the entire culture which surrounds us has changed.

Ask a teenager how many pairs of shoes he/she has and they'll give you some mind-blowing number in response, maybe 10 or even more. Running shoes, walking shoes, semi-formal dress shoes, dress shoes, basketball shoes, skateboarding shoes, blue shoes, white shoes, and countless other shoes all seem to be necessary for one person these days.

And let's not even get into clothing; because depending on the lunar phase, LIBOR and several other variables, there are many different occasions for wearing certain clothes. So since our generation's values have changed so severely, who benefits from this? There must be somebody who benefits from the now-common superficial materialism - which is now only a cultural norm.

Of the many companies which benefit from this trend, here are three clothiers with some of the world's strongest brands that support their strong earnings. (The statistics in bold represent the best figures for the three companies.)

So if you want your portfolio to reap the benefits of the current cultural trend, keep an eye on these stocks. It seems as though this generation's materialistic spending is paying off for these companies big time, otherwise they wouldn't be outperforming the S&P 500 by up to 35% like VFC.

And even if these current trends were to change, a rapidly increasing global population puts companies in a position to take advantage of an increasing demand for clothing. Now before you hand over $90 for those new shoes that you really want, you could consider investing that money in one of these companies instead.
