Avnet (AVT): "Cheap, cheap, cheap. Fantastic company...it's got Europe. It's got semis. People are going to throw it away. I don't want to throw it away. It is a great company."
Devon Energy (DVN): "...it has a better balance sheet and better assets than Chesapeake."
Red Hat (RHT): "I think Mr. Whitehurst [the CEO] has told a good story. The company goes down when people get nervous. It spikes on a report, and it goes down again, because people get nervous. We are at the phase when people are nervous, but I like it."
Ensco (ESV): "...it keeps going lower, but it is better than Seadrill."
Bearish Calls:
Chesapeake Energy (CHK): "I don't want to own Chesapeake when I can own Devon."
Nabors Industries (NBR): "This has been a terrible performer. I'm embarrassed by that. No."
Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (DPS): "I think it is a terrific stock to own...they have a good balance sheet and generate a lot of cash. Buy, buy, buy."
Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX): "I want to be hopeful, but the new revised data does not give me much hope. Vertex is not as good as I first thought."
Seadrill (SDRL): "...this one is overextended because of the dividend. I don't care for this stock."
Emerson Electric (EMR): "This is such a terrific company...but it is what I am talking about when I say industrials are hated. When it yields 4%, I would buy it. At 3.4%, it is not low enough."
