The consensus range is 70c to 75c for EPS and revenue range of $928M to $975.92M, according to First Call. United Rentals gave guidance on January 10 expecting FY07 EPS $2.55-$2.60 vs. consensus of $2.61 and FY07 revenue $3.73B vs. consensus of $3.79B.
Analyst ViewsUBS Financial upgraded United Rentals to Buy from Neutral on January 3, citing valuation and potential renewed cost reduction programs. Jefferies maintained its Hold rating for United Rentals, stating 2008 outlook is dependent on cost savings, the firm believes concerns over further weakness in the non-residential construction markets is likely to limit upside in the shares.
Note that United Rentals received a $100M termination fee in December from Cerberus Capital Management, who was supposed to buy United Rentals over the summer, but backed out because it couldn't find financing.
