The ETF Industry is Losing Assets Quickly

I have the best table I've seen in a long time for you ETF data lovers.
The ETF industry is down big-time in assets so far this year - dropping from a peak in assets of around $625 billion, to a level that now is around $560 billion, and it's NOT all about assets looking lower as the stock market slides, though it probably IS all about the market sliding and people cashing out.
There have been some big redemptions across the golden-boy ETF industry in just the last couple of months, and looking at the breakdown, as well as the snapshot of where all the different players in the industry stands, is absolutely fascinating. Talk about being in the right place at the right time for ProShares, which continues to be a rocket ship.
Thanks as always to our resident ETF whiz, Matt Hougan, who has compiled all of this data. I'll just lay it out here for you to gaze upon, forward, etc. To me, reviewing this kind of thing is about as good as it gets. This industry is moving fast.
The data is as of February 22, 2008, and the time period for increase/decrease in assets is December 28, 2007 through February 22, 2008.
