Via Paid Content, FT is reporting that GE (GE) is considering selling off NBCU, of which it owns 80%. The remaining 20% is owned by Vivendi. Of course, GE CEO Jeff Immelt says that is not true, according to the NYT, via SAI.

The article pegs the value of NBCU at $40B, last year I ran the numbers and estimated its value at $32B.

At some point, I am not sure if GE is the best home for NBCU, but the time to sell it or spin it off was when NBC was the king of networks, not now… when traditional media is being barraged by new media.
