Roger Nusbaum submits: This article on Bloomberg about emerging markets is definitely worth reading.
The general tone is that emerging market stocks may be cooling off a little and that a better way to be exposed is with stocks that have big dividend yields. There is a list of some names that fit the bill.
I have been a fan of Chilean banks for this type of holding. The stocks will probably do well more often than not and they pay very large dividends. There are also a couple of telecom stocks from Asia with very large dividends as well.
These types of stocks are not that hard to find, and one way or another they belong in a diversified portfolio. The caution I have been sounding over the last few days has been about having too much exposure, not a call to get out.
