Tysabri Comes Out On Top At FDA Panel Meeting (BIIB, ELN)

The bulls had it right – despite the pundits, including me, who believed the outcome of the Panel meeting would be at best a limited market return for Tysabri, Biogen Idec (ticker: BIIB) and Elan (ticker: ELN) hit the lottery. The Panel not only voted unanimously to bring back the drug as a standalone treatment but also voted 7-5 in favor of allowing the drug to be used in first-line therapy. I agree completely. With BIIB you have the diversified business plus you are not exposed to the lofty valuation of ELN.
