Thursday's US Market Wrap

Nick Perry (Schaeffer's Investment Research) submits:

The day started with an overall upward bias, but finished at the opposite end of the spectrum:

Crude, gold and bonds showed gains while the rest of the field traded lower...biotech and semis were the weakest, but a number of groups showed losses near one percent...

One of the noteworthy points today was the action in gold stocks. The HUI was strong out of the gate but its momentum faded as it pushed into the former support that was violated on Tuesday.

Tomorrow brings us the monthly jobs report...
