Dividend stocks are wonderful because they increase my cash with regular payments. One major date in relation to the payment is the ex-dividend date. If you own a stock before this date, you get the next payment. This is very interesting because in the case of a high yield stock, I can earn at least one percent in cash for a short period of investing.

I screened stocks with ex-dividend date within the upcoming week. 172 common and preferred shares have their ex-dividend date between July 30 and August 05. Exactly 53 of them have a dividend yield above 5%. Many of them have a high yield because the market believes that the dividend is not sustainable. Especially in the case of low capitalized stocks or stocks with very high yields over 10%, the possibility of a dividend cut is much higher as for stocks with a higher capitalization at normal yields. Because of this, I decided to select only those stocks with a market capitalization over $2 billion and a dividend yield below 10%. These are the results with a P/E ratio below 15:

1. New York Community Bancorp (NYB) has a market capitalization of $5.58 billion. The company generates revenue of $1,866.66 million and has a net income of $480.04 million. The firm's EBITDA amounts to $941.35 million. The EBITDA margin is 50.43% (operating margin 51.16% and net profit margin 33.43%).

The total debt represents 11.06% of the company's assets and the total debt in relation to the equity amounts to 83.48%. Last fiscal year, a return on equity of 8.59% was realized. Twelve trailing months earnings per share reached a value of $1.11. Last fiscal year, the company paid $1.00 in form of dividends to shareholders. The ex-dividend date is on August 03, 2012.

Here are the price ratios of the company: The P/E ratio is 11.47, Price/Sales 3.89 and Price/Book ratio 1.00. Dividend Yield: 7.87%. The beta ratio is 0.84.

2. Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) has a market capitalization of $10.44 billion. The company generates revenue of $6,850.44 million and has a net income of $697.16 million. The firm's EBITDA amounts to $1,669.77 million. The EBITDA margin is 24.37% (operating margin 18.09% and net profit margin 10.18%).

The total debt represents 50.34% of the company's assets and the total debt in relation to the equity amounts to 136.54%. Last fiscal year, a return on equity of 4.53% was realized. Twelve trailing months earnings per share reached a value of $4.77. Last fiscal year, the company paid $3.58 in form of dividends to shareholders. The ex-dividend date is on August 02, 2012.

Here are the price ratios of the company: The P/E ratio is 9.53, Price/Sales 1.61 and Price/Book ratio 1.85. Dividend Yield: 7.86%. The beta ratio is 0.66.

3. Linn Energy (LINE) has a market capitalization of $7.81 billion. The company generates revenue of $1,622.45 million and has a net income of $438.44 million. The firm's EBITDA amounts to $1,045.51 million. The EBITDA margin is 64.44% (operating margin 43.85% and net profit margin 27.02%).

The total debt represents 49.92% of the company's assets and the total debt in relation to the equity amounts to 116.47%. Last fiscal year, a return on equity of 13.95% was realized. Twelve trailing months earnings per share reached a value of $4.79. Last fiscal year, the company paid $2.70 in form of dividends to shareholders. The ex-dividend date is on August 03, 2012.

The total debt represents 47.57% of the company's assets and the total debt in relation to the equity amounts to 103.59%. Last fiscal year, a return on equity of 10.70% was realized. Twelve trailing months earnings per share reached a value of $4.38. Last fiscal year, the company paid $3.05 in form of dividends to shareholders. The ex-dividend date is on August 08, 2012.

Here are the price ratios of the company: The P/E ratio is 12.72, Price/Sales 9.01 and Price/Book ratio 2.27. Dividend Yield: 5.49%. The beta ratio is 0.97.
