Tongjitang Chinese Medicines Company (NYSE: TCM) of Shenzhen said that Monday’s devastating earthquake in China has damaged the water piping system at its Guiyang facility, compromising water quality. As a result, the plant will be shut down until the problem can be solved.
The Guiyang facility produces Xianling Gubao [XLGB], the best-selling traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of osteoporosis in China and Tongjitang’s flagship product.
Tongjitang promised updates on the situation when more information is available.
